OUR TREES
Our trees are propagated with scion-wood cuttings taken from our own 4-acre Mother Orchard. Our trees grow in living soil, not pots. Grown this way, trees establish faster, are more resilient and less prone to disease. You can purchase Trees seasonally August to March - standard Plant Nursery practise for trees not grown in pots. Out of season, we take pre-orders to be lifted and despatched the following Winter.
Tree Selection
Whereas the apple variety will determine the apple you get, the rootstock will determine the size and vigour of the tree. Guidance is available in our Rootstock Guide and on every product page. We're also happy to give advice if you would like some help making your variety & rootstock selections. NB. All trees supplied are between 1.2 and 1.5m tall.
Delivery of Trees
Trees are lifted & despatched bareroot in the dormant season, November-March. Trees are then despatched via a 24-hr courier in sturdy cardboard packaging with roots wrapped to keep them fresh. We will inform you when your trees are ready for despatch, giving you a few days notice ahead of their arrival.
Receiving trees
Please check your trees when they arrive and report any damage to us immediately. If you can’t plant them out straight away, they’ll be fine for 2 or 3 days in a cool, frost-free place, leaving the roots wrapped or you can “heel them in." Make sure you plant out by mid-March, before they come into leaf.

Who we are
A family business
Working with Nature
Starting with the foundation of healthy soil, we farm in ways that boosts bio-diversity & healthy ecology. We encourage natural predation of pests & a wide range of pollinators, and provide food for birds, insects, and other wildlife.
Organic and Regenerative
We farm in ways that aim to regenerate soil and ecology rather than deplete it. Organic & regenerative methods of production are more beneficial for the health of soil, environment, people & planet. We are certified & annually assessed under strict Soil Association criteria.
low impact one planet Produce
Our Nursery & Market Garden is part of our low-impact, one-planet development where we live & work in ways to reduce our ecological footprint to within one-planet limits. We are part of a growing movement of one-planet producers, thanks to the Welsh Government’s visionary One Planet policy.
Supporting Societal Change
We passionately believe that a transition to locally and ecologically produced food can really make a difference - and indeed is a shift which is vitally needed - in these challenging times of global climate change, diminishing wildlife/biodiversity & diet-related ill health.
